My customer is using MC9300 devices. Can the barcode scanner be used within a Microsoft Power App? PowerApps are available for Android from Playstore It is a low code tool to build apps and it has a barcode scanner control

Question is: Can this be used on the MC9300 devices and is there a guide how to set it up?

It seems to be working on TC20 and TC21:

There are more questions like that in the Microsoft Community:

Hi Michael, I've documented myself a little bit and what I can say about it is that the scanners should be compatible as long as they're being used as a Keyboard Emulator, meaning that you can't control other functions such as defining the supported symbologies. To do that you must use our proprietary application called DataWedge. But in that case the customer will need to create a custom application either Hybrid (Xamarin for example) or Native (Android)

Thanks Daniel, so let me see if I understand that correctly:

  1. We can use the keyboard Emulator in Power Apps. This is without other functionality (e.g. symbologies)
  2. If we need other functionality (e.g. symbologies) then we need DataWedge and a hybrid or native app

Is that correct? Do you have examples for #1 or #2 ?
