Linux Print Server + USB-Connected Label Printer

Hi all!

Currently writing an app as a volunteer for my local high school and wanted to use a GC420 and the Java SDK to print stickers from a Linux web server.

Per the docs, UsbDiscoverer and friends don't support Linux, but it looks like it wouldn't be all that hard to implement a subclass of ConnectionA that basically just parrots everything out to /dev/usb/lp0 or similar.

Before I go implement such a beast, is there any other solution for Linux?  Alternatively, is there a way to just render a PNG to ZPL so I can just open/spit the resulting ZPL to the device file?

Seems a bit silly to have all this nifty automagical stuff and not have a way to just dump the resulting page description stream to disk somewhere (even if just for troubleshooting).  Did I miss something?
