Hi Pablo, You can Find your device Serial number like this also Click on Start => Settings => System =>System Info => here you can see ESN( this is your device Serial Number ) regards Rakesh kumar rakesh.bits@gmail.com
Hi Rakesh You are right, but this only works on new Devices like MC3190 and MC9190. I need the Serial Number of MC3090 and MC9090 at least. Arsen says that there is info in the EMDK Documentation, I will look in there. Looking ESN in support.symbol.com I found QueryESN, but I cant download it. If anyone have it, plese send it to me. Thanks Pablo
Hi Pablo, There is a 4kb executable available from Motorola called QueryESN.exe which displays the serial# on the screen. Great for devices that don't show it in the OS, or of it the Serial# is worn off. I also deploy it to some of my MC3XXX customers so they don't have to remove the battery to see the serial# details. You should be able to request this from Motorola. We also use it to verify that the serial# has been correctly burnt into the mainboard, when these devices come back from repair - which isn't always the case. Regards Gazza
what I need is to get the serial number recorded in the mainboard. I don´t know if the serial number is writed in the Registry. With MSP I can get the serial number from any Motorola MC. How can I do that without MSP?
The serial number is flashed into device as ESN (electronic serial number), you can see it in Control Panel -> System Info (right next to UUID, OS version, etc). It will be maintained thoughout the device lifecycle (i.e. repairs, etc), even if the your device will go through motherboard replacement. If you can see it in Control Panel (on some devices you can't) - you can get it programmatically. It is not stored in registry or file system, but is available via an API Call (please look into EMDK documentation to see which is the right one)
