AP Load balancing behavior

Hi

Please let me clarify AP load balancing behavior. Now we have 2*RFS6000. (I believe RFS7000 is same.)

1) AP adoption with Active/Active2*RFS are configured with Active/Active, but preference ID is 0(default).When inserting AP300 one by one into the network, AP adoption seems to be equal between 2*RFS.Meaning AP load balancing seems to be working as the default. Can we assume that this is the expected behavior?

2) AP load balancing after failover is overWe configure RFS-A with preference 1 and RFS-B with preference 2.All AP300s are adopted as expected. Now RFS-A reload and AP300 are switched over and adopted by RFS-B. [expected]After RFS-A comes up, what can we do if AP load balancing works again? Can we reset AP per group ID? Or just select and reset each AP for RFS-A with preference 1?

3) AP100AP100 does not have the field of preference, so AP load balancing does not seem to work,Is this correct? If so, the adoption depends on the first responding RFS?

Your clarification and feedback would be greatly appreciated.

1. This is the expected behavior. If you had two switches with diffrent capacities, you would see the switch with bigger capacity getting more APs. 2. You have to reset APs with preference ID 1 so they go back to the preferred switch. When WiNG 1.3 is released, you can use the "Dynamic AP loadbalancing" feature to do this automatically. 3. You are correct. --Rajesh
