I have a customer using a MC9090 who would like to connect the device to a Toledo Scale with BlueTooth through DataWedge. Can DataWedge initiate the BlueTooth serial connection? And can the MC9090 maintain this profile through cold boot? The customer would need to be able to scan bar codes as well? Steve Wichael (303)886-1692 Any help would be appreciated.

Hi. Assuming the scale is using the Bluetooth Serial Port Profile (SPP) you can use Datawedge, or a direct serial port access method. Either way Bluetooth Explorer will create and/or open the BT connection for you. Also, BTExplorer provisioning API can be used to make connection information persist across a cold boot. Alternately, one could scan a bar code to pair the connection. The help desk, Taheer, and I can help steer you in the right direction. Jim
