I am not sure if I will post this on ADC or RFID forum. Have anybody experienced competing with "capture-tech - visidot" products? ( www.capturetech.nl/visidot_en.html) Any thoughts on how to compete with it? I know it can scan multiple 2d barcodes at long range at the same time and is positioned as an alternative to a Gantry-type RFID application.

The specs they have on their website are pretty hazy regarding working ranges (beyond 'long range') and required sizes of the labels. A couple of issues with their solution: 1 - all the barcodes need to be facing the camera, so the pallets need to be pretty organized. 2- If they wrap the pallet in plastic wrap there is a good chance they will not get all the barcodes. Because the camera is fixed, it will be difficult to get around specular reflections if they occur.
