WiNG autoconfig

Anyone come across a problem transitioning a WS5100 system running V2 to WiNG and your customer is using auto configuration via DHCP scope options?

We have a large retailer with close to 2000 WS5100 deployed that are in the proccess of evaluating the change to the RFS6000 due to EOL of the WS5100 plus also potentially upgradeing the installed base of WS5100 to V3.

They use DHCP scope option to allow them to deploy to new stores and replace switches that have failed in existing stores with out of box factory default switches where no pre staging is necessary at all with the V2 code, dropping both the appropriate firmare version and config file to said WS5100's.

Although V3 does support the scope options, the problem is that no port is set to be a DHCP client and therefore a manual config must first be done to the switch to set VLAN 1 to be a DHCP client to then allow the DHCP server to do its thing and scope options to work.

We have also looked at using RFMS maybe via the default 10.1.1.100 Me1 port but cannot find any way to make this work on the multi VLAN network this customer is running.

Any suggetions or comments welcome...

Cheers
