Can we set the default SIP to be the transcriber instead of the keyboard?

All... Looking for the registry entry that we can use (if it exists) to set the default SIP method on an MC75 to be the Transcriber rather than the Keyboard. Yes, I've found a customer who prefers the transcriber. In other news, cats are reported to be sleeping with dogs... Thanks as always! -JP

Hi Jon, The default input method is kept here [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip] "DefaultIm"="{42429667-ae04-11d0-a4f8-00aa00a749b9}" The value is the input method class ID. By default it's set for "Keyboard" IM class. By searching for "IsSIPInputMethod" in registry you will find all the SIP input methods classes and the class for "Transcriber" on my MC75 is {F0034DD0-2AD4-11d1-9CB0-E84BE8000000} So the registry settings to make transcriber as a default IM will be [HKEY_CURRENT_USER\ControlPanel\Sip] "DefaultIm"="{F0034DD0-2AD4-11d1-9CB0-E84BE8000000}" Regards, Valery .

Thanks Valery! I've also found a little run-once application which purports to do the same thing... impractical for deployment, but probably handy to have in the demo kit. I'm yet to run it, but it looks legit. http://www.1800pocketpc.com/2008/02/14/sipchange.html Cheers, -JP
