USB to Ethernet adaptor

We have a requirement where the customer needs to ping a IP device over a wire as a part of their usage of their field service application. We were looking at providing them a USB to Ethernet adaptor along with the MC75A+USB cable cup. has anyone used something like this?  Any other suggestions? ( http://www.quatech.com/catalog/socketserial.php#usbgigabit

Hi We are using a company called DAHLIATEC, http://dahliatech.com/  they implement in their one slot Ethernet cradle the ADMTECH chipset (the one we use in 4 slots Ethernet cradles), they propose also a small box doing the USB to Ethernet conversion (using the same ADMTECH chipset).  Hope that helps Regards Philippe
