Can anyone tell me when the "Unadopted AP" tab in the Network>>Access Port area of the RFS GUI would be populated. I have tried to populate this field by removing connectivity to existing AP's, and while they show a red check mark in the Access Port Radios, they never show in unadopted AP's

You need to disable the "Adopt unconfigured radios automatically" option under Network - AP radios - Global settings.then delete your radios from the list
Just to provide some additional clarification here, Unadopted APs is a listing of APs which are not adopted by any switch, but are seen by the switch as APs which could possibly be adopted. Once the AP has been adopted by a switch, it should no longer show up in unadopted radios. As Henrich pointed out above, you will generally only see this when you are not adopting all radios automatically.
Also, an AAP will sometimes show up on this list if it talking to the controller, but is running the wrong AAP firmware, or is waiting to be automatically upgraded.
