Prizm Vs OPWM

I have a few questions concerning Prizm and OPWM:-

Is there a document detailing the key differentiators between Prizm & Wireless Manager 2.2 & possibly WM3

Is there an upgrade path from Prizm to WM 2.2 then on to WM 3, are there short term costs associated if they buy prizm now and upgrade to WM3 when it is available

Once purchased, are there any annual software maintenance charges to keep it up to date?

When will Wireless Manager 3 be available, any documentation available

Is there, or will there be (and when) an automatic server failover option for the Wireless Manager 3 that is not in WM 2.2 but is available in Prizm

They need to write reports and an invoicing module to enable them to move to the Motorola software. Is the database schema available and can we access the database directly?

Does Prizm support PMP430 units or any “new” OFDM products, when did development stop on Prizm

Does Prizm support the full range of Backhauls (excluding PTP300, 400, 500 & 600), including the latest “SuperLite” backhauls

Simon, we have several forthcoming documents that cover your questions, but there are some I can answer directly.
Is there a document detailing the key differentiators between Prizm & Wireless Manager 2.2 & possibly WM3

> We are working on this now.  The document will compare Prizm and WM 3.0.  We will not compare Prizm and WM 2.2 since that version was not intended as a Prizm replacement.

Is there an upgrade path from Prizm to WM 2.2 then on to WM 3, are there short term costs associated if they buy prizm now and upgrade to WM3 when it is available

> There will be an upgrade path from Prizm to WM 3.0 only.  If they *purchased Prizm EMS* in 2010, it is a free upgrade.  If they purchased Prizm EMS prior to 2010, they can upgrade to WM 3.0 by paying the first year's software maintenance, which is determined by number of nodes.

1 – 10 Nodes

$650.00

11 – 25 Nodes

$875.00

26 – 50 Nodes

$1,250.00

51 – 100 Nodes

$1,850.00

101 – 150 Nodes

$2,413.00

151 – 250 Nodes

$3,500.00

251 – 500 Nodes

$6,125.00

501 – 1000 Nodes

$11,750.00

Once purchased, are there any annual software maintenance charges to keep it up to date?

> Yes, there is annual maintenance.  It is identical to the chart above.

When will Wireless Manager 3 be available, any documentation available

> Current target release date is Nov 4, 2010.  Documentation and marketing materials are scheduled to be released a month prior, along with a pre-order offer.

Is there, or will there be (and when) an automatic server failover option for the Wireless Manager 3 that is not in WM 2.2 but is available in Prizm

> There is a High Availability option available for WM 3.0.

They need to write reports and an invoicing module to enable them to move to the Motorola software. Is the database schema available and can we access the database directly?

We don't publish the database schema at the moment.  We don't hide it either; anybody with permissions can access the database directly.  If the person knows enough to create their own reports by tapping into a database, then they should have relatively little trouble doing so.  Also WM 3 will come with a new PHP Report engine, which will contain many useful reports as well as offering customization.
