Hi, I have a partner running MSP v3.3.1 and they have an issue when they try and stage a terminal using OnDemand from a Windows 7 PC. The MSP is installed on a virtual server. If the partner uses activesync all works. If he uses the same setup but from a Windows XP machine he is able to stage via WLAN or Ethernet. Any ideas as what may be the issue with the Win7 machine? Details:

I am trying to stage the QHealth software with MSP 3.3.1 but I keep getting “Could not connect to Profile Server” error on the device when I use Ethernet cradle or via WLAN.

Well, it works when I use ActiveSync with my PC but that is not practical for massive amount of device.

I noticed that RD client found the “Profile Server” but the address is 127.0.0.1:35603 which not going to work.

I have uninstalled and installed the MSP 3.3.1 but the problem still there. I also clears the cache package on my Java applet and same result.

Just so you know my environment is Windows Server 2008 standard (32bit) + SQL 2008 R2 on virtual machine.

Just tested another PC with Windows XP and it worked but not with Windows 7?

Do you think that would be the reason of operating system?

Ajith, We have had a few days of public holidays and so no testeing has been completed. I will update Dev Central as soon as I hear back from the partner. Regards, Andy

Disabling IPv6 solved the issue.

I have tested it and it works but as our server is SBS 2008 and the PCs need IPV6 to communicate with server.

Therefore, it may not a good solution to just disable the IPV6 on the PC. However, I use the Windows XP mode on my PC and run on virtual XP on the machine.

Well, it is working as it is XP. I think I have to wait for JRE 7 to release and then switch to Windows 7 to do on-demand staging.

Andy, Since there is a problem with java in IPV6 enabled system you are seeing this issue on windows7. This is fixed in Java 7. For now you can turn off the IPV6 on windows 7 to make it work Attached file has the details on How to disable IPv6  Let me know if it works Thanks Krishna
