I would like to copy data to the device via FTP server-client connection, but I can copy only files no FOLDERS. Does any one have a solution for this?

Would need more info around what you want to do... Note FTP is designed to work with files. You could use FTP to send via JSON files and then parsed in your app.
Or you can simply retreive data directly from you web-app using Ajax calls. For testing purposes to see how Ajax works, place the attached 2 files on your server and point to the landing page with the SB1 or any browser for that matter.
