Motorola MC40N0 (Android 2.3.4). Not file com.symbol.emdk.jar in /system/framework/. The directory is read-only. I think for this reason I can't compile the samples. What to do?

I have a TC55 and com.symbol.emdk.jar is also missing in /system/framework.
I ran "Device Runtime Deployment" and it installed EMDKOSUpdateApp, but the jar file is still missing.
When I try to run a sample app (e.g. BarcodeSample1), I get an error INSTALL_FAILED_MISSING_SHARED_LIBRARY, because the library is missing.
Any idea how to fix this??
Cheers,
Bob
What build number do you have on your device (settings > About phone > Build number)? If there is a ”G” in the build number then you have to install Enterprise Enabler package which is located at: https://portal.motorolasolutions.com/Support/US-EN/Resolution?solutionI…
Hi Timur,
Android EMDK support Jelly Beans (4.1.x) and KitKat (4.4.x) device only. There's no support for GingerBread (Android 2.3.x)
